Access

Here we are able to authorize avatars in several different ways. Suited for large amounts of avatars is Trust Access as this allows for virtually all playful interaction. More intimate and powerful is of course the Owner Access role. As a comparison, Trust Access could be like your best friend, or your boyfriend or girlfriend, where your Owner would be best compared to an long time partner or a system admin.

This access role can be compared to a “super user”. Owners can do anything and everything the OpenCollar device allows, like manipulating all access lists, RLV configurations and App settings. They can teleport the wearer away without having to ask and are exempt of all RLV restrictions involving travel and communication. If the safeword is used, they will be informed to check on the wearer and so to make sure to keep them safe. Once set only Owners can add other new Owners.

Owner access shouldn't be rushed. It's very powerful and to sniff each other out, we suggest to rather use the Capture mode.

The Trusted role gives sufficient control to provide full interaction but does not overrule the wearer as long as no Owner is set. If you wanted to keep total control over all features but don’t want a full Owner, what you don’t have to do is add yourself as Owner. You add other people as Trusted. Even with a full Owner already listed, you both can decide who to give or from whom to revoke Trust.

If you trust someone, they get special exemptions. When ever your Chat or Instant Messaging are blocked, the Trusted can still communicate with you. After you found an Owner, this role is very much intended for those people who you allow to interrupt your play and quality time by messaging you or in other words: your very besties. ❤

People who have been blocked can no longer access the device if you are running it on Public or Group access. Keep this list tidy, it’s for emergency cases and if you tell someone off and they won’t let you be, also consider using the block feature in the SL viewer.

☐/☒ Group, Public: These two types of authorization are very, very lighthearted. Imagine that like a guest account on a computer. Under the hood these two have the same rights, however, the Group will fetch the wearer's currently active group and grants only the members of this group Public access rights. While Group access is enabled the group slot is locked and the group cannot be changed!

This was highly demanded by users for a long time. With this mode active, the wearer has full Owner access rights also while other avatars are already added as Owners. The Vanilla mode can only be set by the wearer of the collar, others get “Access denied!”

Keep in mind, that in many cases, the more preferable way to handle this would be to only add Trusted avatars rather than any Owners at all. A wearer without Owners set, already has the highest leve of control and access to the collar device as long as no Owners were added. ​ If this mode/button should be named differently for personal reasons, the command [prefix] flavor MyFlavor will change both the visual button and the vocal command [prefix] myflavor on/off. Just in case vanilla on/off stays intact as a working command as well.

Here you can wipe the Owner list. Trust lists stay intact, you can always edit this list even with full Owners set. Don't worry about accidentally running away. You have to confirm that in a menu first.

This prints the whole list of authorized avatars (and group if enabled) to the Nearby Chat.
